Our Foster Homes are Full  

It's All About the Cats is sorry to say that our program is full at this time - We are not accepting new cats or kittens into our adoption program with the exception that we are still offering courtesy listings for people who want to rehome their adult cats (see below).

  Although we would love to save every cat in Central Florida and make sure that they all have loving homes, this is just not possible due to the number of cats that are having kittens this year. 

If you have a fertile female cat (or if you feed strays cats or know someone who does), PLEASE see this reference for information on low-cost (sometimes free) spay programs. Every kitten that is not born is one less kitten that we have to turn away. It breaks our hearts.

Courtesy Listings on our Website

  If you want to find a new home for your personal pet that is already spayed/neutered and is current on its vaccines, but do not want to go to the trouble of becoming a temporary foster home - then consider placing a courtesy listing on our website. Your cat will get national exposure and people will contact you directly to arrange for adoption so that you can be the one to interview the potential adopter and make the determination if the home is suitable or not.

 If you are interested in this option, please complete the Website Information Form and return it to us. This form is a .pdf file that you can fill out on your computer and then print/fax or return by email. Our fax number is 407-812-6468. If you want to use the “submit by email” button on the form, you must first save your completed copy [use “file”, “save as” on the top menu bar of your .pdf reader application] before you email it or we will get a blank form.

 Be sure to provide the contact information that you want potential adopters to see on our website. This can be a phone number or email address or both. We also need a copy of your cat's medical record from your vet (they can fax it to 407-812-6468) and at least one good photograph of your cat. We prefer .jpg format files but can convert them if you do not have this option.

It's All About the Cats does not have a shelter. We rely on foster homes to take care of our cats and kittens during the time that they are getting all their medical work done and then while we are working to find them homes. We used to have over a dozen foster homes but have lost many of these due to changes in circumstances related to the poor economy.

At this time, we have only a handful of foster homes. This limits how many cats and kittens we are able to help at any one time. The capacity in these foster homes is severely limited at all times. Therefore,

                           We do not accept cats and kittens from the general public.

If you have a cat or kitten that you have rescued, or if you have a pet cat or kitten that you can no longer keep, we will work with you to find a new home for this animal. However, you must be prepared to serve as a temporary foster home during the period of time that we are helping you. Please note that we will not ask you to foster additional cats for us – only the ones that you have found or need to re-home.

The exception to this rule is if you have a cat that is already neutered and up to date on vaccines. If this is the case, we can place a courtesy listing on our website. See below for more details. 

Temporary Foster Homes

 If you are interested in working with us to find a home for a pet that you cannot keep any longer, or a stray that you want to help but cannot keep, please read Temporary Foster Care Steps and follow the instructions provided. We cannot help you until we have received all the completed forms and applicable documents.

Please keep in mind the following items when making a decision to work with our group: 

• Our vet is located on Pershing Ave (about 4 miles north of the Orlando International airport). Your cat or kitten may or may not require a visit to the vet – depending on what medical work it has already had done. You can use your personal vet for any required medical work - but if you do you will have to pay out of your own pocket. 
• We hold our adoption events at the Petco Store at the Loop Shopping Center on John Young Parkway (north Kissimmee). The cat or kitten may need to attend quite a few adoption events before it gets a home - so you need to make sure that the driving is not too much before you commit to fostering.
• If you withdraw your cat or kitten from the adoption program before it is placed in an adoptive home, we expect you to repay our vet expenses which could run up to $70 or more per cat or kitten.

If you are agreeable to our process and conditions and feel the driving is not too much, then please fill out the Temporary Foster Care Agreement and the Website Information Formand return both to us. A separate website information form is required for each cat or kitten you want to list with us. Both forms are .pdf files that you can fill out on your computer and then print. You can fax the printed forms to 407-812-6468 or scan them and attach them to a return email. If you want to use the “submit by email” button on the website information form, you must first save your completed copy [use “file”, “save as” on the top menu bar of your .pdf reader application] before you email it or we will get a blank form.

If possible, please send some photos of the cat or kitten along with your forms. We prefer .jpg format files but can convert them if you do not have this option. If your cat or kitten has any prior medical work, we need documentation from your vet. They can fax this to 407-812-6468. The items we are interested in include: spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, FVRCP vaccine, and testing for FeLV/FIV. All cats will require current flea treatment and de-worming.

 Long-Term Foster Homes Needed

If you are interested in fostering but do not have any cats or kittens who need a home, we would love to hear from you. We can supply the cats or kittens - your choice - and can guarantee that it will be an experience you will never forget. Please keep in mind:

Fostering is a family commitment. Everyone in the household needs to agree on it.

Fostering can be time consuming. Kittens must go to appointments for vaccines, meds and eventually spay/neuter. The foster home is responsible for transporting. In addition, there are routine meds that must be given by the foster home and of course there is cleaning up messes.

Fostering is not free. We can provide some supplies that are needed. And we provide all medical care. But you may incur some costs for food or litter.

Fostering can break your heart. It can be painful to say goodbye to your kittens when they are adopted, BUT, fostering can be THE MOST rewarding and fulfilling thing a true cat lover will ever do to support our help a homeless cat or kitten!
