Jorge nka George
Jorge nka George

Geroge had a sad but inspiring story when he was rescued from animal control. And he had a face that only a special person could love (one eyed, crumpled ears). Lucky for George, that special person came along to rescue him one last time and give him a forever home - March 21, 2009. That special person is Bill and this happy tail is based on his notes to us.

Bill tells us that George (previously known as Jorge) is his shadow. George has slept with him every night since he's been at his new home. He's healthy, happy and has taken over the role of Alpha cat with the 3 resident females. They resisted but he's tenacious.

Bill says "Adopting George was one of the best decisions I've ever made. He is beautiful both inside and out. He lives a life of leisure that he so richly deserves".

Recently, Bill wrote to give us an update on George. He said "It's been well over a year and George is thriving. During his annual physical, he doubled his weight and is a hit at my vet's office. George has never missed a night sleeping in my bed. He has also become my alarm clock. He awakens me every morning by gently touch my cheek with his paw. I open my eyes and see his silhouette, sitting patiently to be scratched on his chin. He still rules my three females but he is a benevolent dictator and they've accepted his leadership. George is also extremely vocal. He 'talks' to me constantly when I'm preparing his food or getting him and the otther their snacks." The photo you see here was attached. We love to hear such happy tails from our adopters and are so glad we can share them with our readers.

John Joe nka Rocky
John Joe nka Rocky

John Joe's new family has been having a blast with him - and they have changed his name to Rocky because it fits him so well. For the first few days there was a bit of uncertainty while Rocky and the other cat Bobby learned how to tell when the other was not interested in playing, but the two are getting along well as you can see in this photo of them playing with the mylar ball.

Rocky's family is very impressed that he is a very sweet and loving boy! He loves to play with his toys and they now have about a dozen plus all over the place to keep him nice and busy.

The thing his family really loves is that the moment Rocky comes close to one of them, he starts to purr like crazy. It's so cute!

Moira kna Riley
Moira kna Riley

Moira is right at home with her new family as you can tell from this photo of her in her new bed. Her family is thrilled to have her and wrote us a nice note to let us know how quickly she is settling into her new place.

They tell us that Moira is a nut!!!! They are still debating what to name her - to keep her original name or change it to Riley or something else. They are going back and forth trying to figure out what name suits her best.

Moira's new mom works from home and she reports that she hasn't gotten much work done yet because she is enjoying Moira so much!

Her new family is doing everything right to make Moira's transition to her new home go well. They keep her in the large master bathroom at night, removing anything that could break or hurt her. She has her food, bed, carrier with a blanket, toys and litter all in there. The family is impressed that she is very quiet at night and they don't hear her at all crying so they think she is content in there - and we have to agree. What cat would not be content with such luxury?

The new family is slowly opening a new room for her to explore each day, but keep her in the family room most of the time. She's so small - they don't want to lose her! And this way she does not get overwhelmed by a big house all by herself. She does love going on the back screened porch with her new mom and she looks and listens and watches everything.

In summary, everyone agrees that Moira is a joy. Her new family had recently lost their beloved pet Patrick and Moira has brought such love back into the home :)

NOTE: It has been decided, just a few short weeks after she took over her new home - Ms. Moira has a new name - she is now Riley aka Riley bug.

Middie nka Kiwi

Middie has a new home and a great new name to go with it! His family wrote to us to let us know that everything is going great. They are having so much fun with Kiwi who is growing like a weed. He is now about 4.3 pounds and his legs are growing longer every day. They are just glad that they don't have to buy him pants!

Kiwi is so handsome as you can see from his photo. He is getting some cute grey hair mixed in with his black fur.

Kiwi just loves playing with his new big brother, Jonnie. They wrestle and play alot. Jonnie likes to sleep in his cat carrier and Kiwi likes to be near him so he sleeps there sometimes too. You can see a photo of them hanging out in the carrier by going to Kiwi's webpage [just click on his name].

When he isn't playing or hanging out with Jonnie, Kiwi loves to snuggle with mommy. We think this is a match made in heaven :)

Valor nka Buddy
Valor nka Buddy

Buddy was adopted in May 2009 and was still a very small kitten at that time. Fast Forward to Christmas 2009. Here he is with some of his toys, just before taking a nap.

Update on Buddy: Here are some photos of Buddy with his birthday present. He recieved a floor to ceiling climbing/scratching post. He loves to climb up and down, lay on the landings and bat at anyone that walks by.

For more updated photos, including Buddy with his stocking and some more toys, click on his name to go to his webpage. Note that his family had to put the tree outside, on their sun porch, to save the tree and ornaments from the little monster! They report that he still has his leaping ability, and is very playful.
